Beautiful sign of spring

Does anyone know what kind of flowering tree this is?
It hung over the fence behind the church
where my BIL and new SIL got married in Baltimore.
I just had to bring a bloom with me.

What a beautiful group of photos, I belive that is one of the Hardy Magnolias. I love the way you put it in the back window. Looks like you all had fun at the wedding.

If you didn't show it in the tree, I would have guessed it was a well made silk flower... it's beautifully "unreal."

It is not a dogwood. Dogwood blossoms look like they have a nibble out of each petal. It is a variety of magnolia, I believe, but not the standard southern one.
