Secret Santa Sale

Say that five times fast!!!

Sunday at 9:30 p.m., Collage is having a Secret Santa sale. Lots of collaborations between crafters plus other holiday goodies from individual vendors. I've spent all day getting ready.

I've done two collaborations.
The first one is with Jennifer of FancyBeehive.

It's one of my stockings filled with my face scrubbies, lavender and vintage linens along with Jennifer's handmade soap, bath salts and lavender sachet.

I told you a bit about the other collaboration earlier. I can't believe how cute everything is all together!!!!

I made the hats and scarves and Annette of Wool Creations made the dolly outfit. She also made the doll, which is sold separately.

I've also listed quite a few things on my own. A thick scarf for $15.00.

A soft, delicate scarf, also for $15.00.

Mickey Mouse necktie scarf and brooch for $15.00.

Santa in his sleigh necktie scarf for $10.00.

And two pairs of "Newlywed" Christmas stockings for any him-and-her pairs.

Check out all the items being added daily and be sure to log on Sunday night at 9:30 so you don't miss out on your favorites.

Tag I'm it

I was tagged by Barbara. Here are the rules to tag by:

1. Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
Here are my random and/or weird facts about myself:
1. Like Barbara, I have not seen any of the Star Wars movies. Weird thing is I mentioned that the first time I was tagged, lol.
2. I'm 41 years old and only just discovered the joys of a straightening iron. It amazes me my hair can go from the before to the after in about 10 minutes.

BEFORE

AFTER

3. I'm a procrastinator. I haven't thought about Christmas gifts yet. In fact, I haven't even bought Halloween candy.
4. When my boys allow it I've been climbing into bed, under warm blankets with the dog, around 6 p.m. to crochet all evening.
5. Having our house on the market is the only thing keeping it reasonably presentable. I fear when we take it off the market (nothing is selling in this economy), we will be back to our normal cluttered existence.
6. I say "we" a lot when talking about my childhood because I have a twin sister. I don't even realize it until someone who doesn't know me well asks me why I say "we."
7. Another twin quirk that drives my dh crazy is finishing his thoughts before he can form a complete sentence.
Now to tag others:
1. Darling Petunia
2. Mess and Happiness
3. thimbly things
4. Queen of Fifty Cents
5. Jayleigh's Grand Adventures
6. Lulu's Cottage

I didn't think there was much color left

But I was wrong about that.

We drove up to the lake on Sunday and surprise, surprise,
even though the distant mountains were rather muted, the nearby trees had more color to capture on film, er, digital.

Using up the yarn stash....

...and staying warm in the process.

We're expecting snow tonight!

And I now have two new scarves...

...from practicing stitches with with my thrifted yarn.

It's nice to have a wide variety of scarves to choose from.

Versatile scarflette

I practiced the treble crochet stitch by creating this scarflette from the yarn left over from the project shown here.

I sewed two vintage gold-tone buttons on one end and by slipping them through the stitches where ever you want, you can wear it a variety of ways.

A hat for me

See the flower? It's not removable.
That's what makes it mine.
I know none of the males in my house will take this hat.

Santa's secrets

These matching toddler and dolly scarves and hats are on their way to North Carolina to join a doll or doll clothing or both made by Annette at Wool Creations.

They will then become part of the Secret Santa sale at Collage.
The sale goes live Sunday, November 2nd at 9:30 p.m.

Also in the works are collaborations of a felted crayon case and beeswax crayons; a crocheted amigurumi animal in a felted bag; and one of my stockings filled with spa goodies like homemade soap and toffee.

Check back to see what else is being added nearly daily.

Gone until next year....

I was lucky enough to get out early one morning late last week
and catch the last of the fall color.

It's all gone now after the rain and wind
we've gotten the last few days.

Christmas time is almost here...

....isn't it?

I feel like I should've had Christmas music playing today.

Of course, it's too early but since I was listing Christmas items on Etsy today, it would've been appropriate.
