Shamrocks and Irish wool

After trying out many different instructions
for crocheting shamrocks,
I found one that works very well --
and is easy to do to boot.
I used the shimmery evergreen yarn
from my St. Patrick's Day scarf.

The creamy white yarn was from an old
wool Irish  fisherman's sweater that was
distorted and unwearable, but makes for perfect
medallions to hold the shamrocks.

The plain-edged one was the perfect addition
to my son's requested pointy leprechaun hat.
The others will be turned into brooches.
