Remember these fingering weight yarn from my sister?
She received them for free from a garage sale.
They both have a subtle iridescent sheen
and the color in the foreground made a great
lightweight scarf for St. Patrick's Day parades.
Using two strands and double crochet stitches,
this worked up very quickly. I'm showing it here with
one of my new favorite vintage finds -- wool Pendleton shirts.
I buy them for my oldest son but often wear them myself.
I found this gold-tone shamrock pin a few weeks ago.
Give me the more traditional symbols,
like my claddagh ring, St Brigid's cross brooch
or Celtic knot hairpin, over the kitschy
emerald green plastic typical of most
American St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
