Going with simple (and pretty inexpensive) for the Thanksgiving holiday. The thrifting finds above combined with yellow mums that are still outside will probably decorate the dinner table.
Aren't the figures cute? They are marked "Hallmark, Made in Hong Kong" and are made of hard plastic. They each sit under a glass dome. Not sure of their original use. One had a sticker that said "Japan" and they all had rubber gaskets on the glass knobs at the top. Removed those and they look like bell jar cloches.
The discarded school library book I found just last week. "The First Thanksgiving" written by Lena Barksdale in 1954. Adorable black-and-white and 3-color (green, orange and brown) illustrations by Lois Lenski, one of my favorite children's book illustrators. I'll share inside pages at another time.

Hello.
I sure do miss making the rounds, visiting friends in the blog world. I can't think how many times I thought: Soon. Soon I will catch up with everyone.
I hope you are well.
I like your simple Thanksgiving path... it is dear and true.
