Letting the camera do the work

I can't believe how much fun this was --
with such amazing results!

As the boys were wading in the lake right beside me, I set the camera on a tall stump that grew out of the hillside. Zoomed in a bit, and letting the camera focus on what it wanted, pressed the shutter after only briefly looking into the viewfinder.

It certainly focused on elements in the compositions I wouldn't deliberately look for.
