Sometimes simpler is better

My camera is officially doomed.
Dreaded"lens error" issue that I have now learned
is common with Canon cameras.
Knocked around one too many times, I guess.
Until I can get a new one, I have been borrowing
my niece's simple Canon point-and-shoot.
At 12.1 mega-pixels it actually has better resolution
than my now-broken Power Shot.

Can't decide if I want to save for a DSLR
or get one of these simple cameras to tide me over.
Just look at these shots!

Vintage linen goodness with handmade details

I've had a very success fall garage sale season,
including a huge box of handmade linens.
Most are now available in my Etsy shop.
Here is a sneak peek! (click for larger images)

Like my new "model?"
She is a bisque penny doll and so adorable.

Many pieces of waffle weave and damask tea towels in all white.
A few are embroidered and monogrammed like this one.

A lot of doilies with a variety of needlework techniques.
Not in perfect condition but still very usable.

Just fell in love with these sweet tatted pansies.
Other pieces have just as gorgeous trim.

Two of these beauties available!
And many other embroidered table runners there too.

Large round embroidered tablecloth with lacy trim.

Lot of hand-crocheted doily "seconds."
Slight imperfections, still perfect for use or reuse.

Plenty of filet crochet furniture sets for the backs and arms of chairs.
Two "kittens in a basket" sets available.

Boxed set of unsed Irish linen tablecloth and napkins.

Come back to see the other home decor goodies I will be adding soon!

NYS Sheep and Wool Festival

A few weeks ago I got to make my second trip
to the NYS Sheep & Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, NY.
It is becoming one of my favorite weekends of the whole year!

The koi pond was so brilliant in the sunshine
and the fish coordinated with the falling leaves.

Lots of beautiful faces on the sheep, goats, llamas and alpacas!

The second year I had the same partner in crime.
My 9yo insists on the mom and son bonding time.

The only picture of all the yummy yarns that are available.
This was from Maine, saltwater-dyed yarn.
Can't wait to share my yarn purchases with you!

Colors in nature

I can't believe it has been two weeks since I last posted,
especially considering I have so much to share.

Must be all the travel, field trips and general leaf peeping
we have been doing that has kept me away from the blog.

As always, click each individual photo for a larger view.
Hope you enjoy them!
