I hate to follow instructions because I can't, well, follow them. At least this project worked out, even if it will fit a toddler and not me.
I knew by about the 8th row I was doing something wrong (most likely in how I started each row) but I kept going just making sure there were an equal number of stitches on each side.
Draping it over my little guy's shoulders, I knew there was definitely an issue with how long the rows ended up because it kind of made this collar-like bunching at the neck. This clip-on earring worked as a clasp to close it more like a cape.
The stitches turned out OK, but I really think the edging isn't what they called for. The picture on the instructions was too small for me to see if it was supposed to be scalloped like that.Overall, I think it is adorable and would try to replicate it exactly but I think I'm going to take another stab at the directions. Despite it looking so complex it was just 3 different kinds of rows of stitches.

Beautiful. I can't wait to see the pink version.
I like it! Where did you get the pattern? I might want to try it.
It is the crochet triangle shawl, pattern #LW1698, from Red Heart Yarn at readheart.com.
